Level III NICU
The region’s most experienced Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) providing state-of-the-art services for critically ill newborns since 1975. We have a full-time, board certified Neonatologist.
24-hour pain management team
Many women are unsure about the type of pain relief they might need during childbirth. There are many pain relief options available that are safe for baby and mother. Should you need pain medication, the Home Hospital Labor and Delivery department has a dedicated OB Anesthesiologist to administer an epidural 24-hours a day/7 days a week. Not all hospitals have an Anesthesiologist exclusively dedicated to Labor and Delivery.
Inpatient and outpatient Lactation Consultants
St. Elizabeth Regional Health has certified nurses and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) to offer breastfeeding help for new mothers. Consultants are available to meet with hospital patients seven days a week, as well as on an outpatient basis after you go home.
Prenatal and new mom classes
The Kathryn Weil Center for Education, the community education department of St. Elizabeth Regional Health, offers a wide variety of classes for expectant and new parents, including eLearning Childbirth Education
