Scheduling & Registration

Hundreds of appointments are scheduled at our facilities each day.  The Central Scheduling department completes the scheduling services for the clinical departments.  This process includes scheduling, receiving the physicians order for the patient's test, providing directions, test preparations, or itiniaries for the patients.  Surgery Scheduling is included in our Scheduling department which works daily with surgeons to accomodate a patient's needs for pretesting, surgery, hospital care needs during the stay, and precertification of services.

Pre-registration is offered to all patients who are having services. These services include scheduled outpatient  testing, surgery, inpatient admission, Obstetric and many other services.  A patient may be contacted via the telephone by a Pre-Registrar after their physician has scheduled a service.  Patients can also call pre-registration at (765) 423-6160 or 449-5158.  There are specific forms for obstetric services; many physicians have these forms, or they can be obtained thru the Kathryn Wiel Center prenatal classes.   Pre-registration is a very convient service for our patients.  All demographic, billing, and service information is obtained.  Upon completing a pre-registration, the patient can report directly to the service department and complete general consent forms at that time, thus eliminating encounter at the Registration department.

Insurance co-payments and financial arrangments prior to services rendered, are completed at the Cashiers offices at each hospital.

Registration is a vital service for any hospital organization. Registration provides many services to our patients, staff and visitors.   The primary function is to create or locate the patient's medical record, identify necessary patient health information for the medical record, obtain billing information for reimbursement of services, initiate the clinical record for documentation of the patient's services, and provide a financial encounter to assist the patient with healthcare expenses. Registration  provides vital information for patient and visitors, including services offered, directory assistance, financial planning, and providing guidance and compassion for our patients needs. "
